NIKE - 76 INVASION

TURNING FOOTBALL HISTORY INTO A
JERSEY LAUNCH

Sport Club Corinthians Paulista is one of Brazil’s biggest soccer clubs. Its fans are so obsessed that, in 1976, more than 70,000 people traveled from São Paulo to Rio de Janeiro to support the team in a historic match. The movement was so massive it became known as the “Corinthian Invasion.”

Fifty years later, to launch the new jerseys inspired by that milestone, we did the only possible thing: we invaded Rio de Janeiro. Again.

Design System

A bespoke design system was created for the launch, invading Rio de Janeiro through design. Inspired by the city’s most iconic landmarks, the system featured a custom typeface, exclusive Corinthians x Rio stamps, and postcard-inspired visuals that expanded the invasion beyond the physical world.

Visual Concept

Bold typography, minimal compositions, and sun-drenched photography turned Rio into the backdrop of the invasion, creating a campaign that felt both nostalgic and contemporary.

POST CARDS

A series of unique postcards was created, painting one of Brazil’s most colorful cities in Corinthians black and white.

THE INVASION OUTDOOR

Out-of-home placements took over rival territory, marking the Corinthians presence across the city. A custom travel suitcase recreated the fans’ 1976 journey. Inside it, even Globo biscuits, one of Rio de Janeiro’s most iconic symbols, appeared in Corinthians colors.
